Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medicine Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the medication management process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting safe and effective medication use practices. They should have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical protocols, medication administration procedures, and quality assurance measures. The candidate should also possess excellent leadership skills and the ability to effectively train and supervise pharmacy staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medication Management: Oversee the medication management process, including ordering, storage, dispensing, and administration of medications according to physician orders and protocols.

2. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality assurance policies, and safety protocols related to medication handling, storage, and distribution.

3. Staff Training and Supervision: Train and supervise pharmacy staff in medication administration procedures, patient counseling, and documentation requirements to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices.

4. Medication Safety: Implement medication safety initiatives, including medication error prevention strategies, adverse drug event monitoring, and medication reconciliation processes.

5. Patient Education: Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers on proper medication use, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.

Requirements:

• Licensed Pharmacist with a minimum of [X] years of experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy setting.
• Proven experience in medication management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug interactions.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise pharmacy staff.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing, labeling, and documentation.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management software and computer skills for medication inventory management and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) or a related field.
• Certification in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) or Pharmacy Practice Management.
• Experience with automated medication dispensing systems and electronic health records (EHR).
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, third-party billing, and reimbursement processes.
• Familiarity with compounding techniques and sterile product preparation.
